Why You Should Attend

Landscape Architect

Communities are demanding much more from the built environment—from economic to environmental performance. Landscape architecture is where much of this performance will arise. Our conference will provide important information on the often-overlooked elements of landscape design and how to integrate them into smart growth. We expect many of our conference sessions to be accredited for Landscape Architects. Topics include:

  • The landscape architect's role in place making and building healthy, sustainable communities
  • Approaches to reducing regulatory and financial barriers when implementing green infrastructure in rural and urban communities
  • Using parks and open space to help revitalize communities
  • Updates on smart growth funding
  • Creative approaches for successful green infrastructure planning and implementation
  • Incorporating land use in green construction codes
  • Proven smart growth approaches to help protect our valuable water resources
  • How to plan and manage green spaces and urban forests
  • Creating urban gardens and edible parks

And as my view has been from a distance over the past few years, I can attest to the fact that this event continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those I serve and the work I do in communities across America.
