Continuing Education
The LGC is currently pursuing securing continuing education credits for the following professions/designations, for many of the sessions included in the conference program:
Each of the organizations that determine session credit eligibility for each of these professions requires those sessions to be finalized before we can apply for credit for them. We also cannot guarantee that credits will be offered for all of the professions/designations listed above. Please see the conference program pages for the current list of sessions with approved accreditation.
We will make every effort to secure accreditation as early as possible, provide information to participants about which sessions qualify as quickly as we can, and the outline processes involved in obtaining credits after the conference for each designation. Thank you in advance for your patience.
Accreditation Statements
AICP. We have applied for and received continuing education credits for AICP planners for nearly all of the conference sessions. These sessions are marked in the program with "CM #" with the number of credits indicated for each.
ASLA. Professional development hours (PDH) is the term that ASLA and the Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System (LA CES; laces.asla.org) use to describe how much continuing education credit a session carries. These sessions are marked in the program with "PDH #" with the number of qualifying credits through LA CES indicated for each.
Professional development takes the form of a wide range of subjects that relate directly and indirectly to the practice of landscape architecture. In some jurisdictions, licensees must obtain continuing education that pertains to public health, safety and welfare (HSW). These sessions are marked in the program with "HSW #" with the number of qualifying credits through LA CES indicated for each.
Sessions that qualify for both are marked in the program with "PDH/HSW #" with the number of credits indicated for each.
AIA. The Center for Communities by Design is offering continuing education credits for AIA members for several conference sessions. These sessions are marked in the online program with "LU/HSA #" with the number of credits indicated for each. Because the final program that will distributed onsite has already been printed, a separate flier will be created and handed out onsite that lists these sessions and their respective CEU amounts.
All Architects wishing to obtain credit for attending these sessions will need to SIGN-IN at each accredited session, providing both their full name and the AIA Member #.
MCLE. The Local Government Commission has applied for MCLE accreditation for attorneys. Our application is "pending for approval" by the State Bar of California. It is likely we will not know which sessions will be accredited for attorneys until late January.
