The Local Government Commission has arranged special group discounted airfare rates to the 7th Annual New Partners for Smart Growth Conference for attendees traveling to and from the Washington, DC (Reagan National Airport, Washington Dulles International and Baltimore International).

The participating Airline in this offer is American Airlines. Discounts start at 5% depending on the dates of travel. Restrictions may apply. Airport Transportation

From Reagan National Airport (DCA):

Public Transportation
Take the Metro red line to the Woodley Park station.

To access the Metro from the terminals:

• Terminal A: Exit the terminal to the streetside curb, and board any “Airport Shuttle” bus. At the stops for Parking Garages B and C (bus shelter #3 and bus shelter #5) you may access an enclosed bridge, which connects to the Metro station.


• Terminal B and C: Use either of two enclosed pedestrian bridges on the concourse level that connect directly to the station.

From the Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD):

Public Transportation
A rail line to Dulles Airport is currently in the design phase. At present, the nearest Metrorail station is the West Falls Church Station on the Orange Line. Direct transportation to this station is available from the Washington Flyer Coach Service. Buses depart approximately every 30 minutes and boarding announcements are made inside the airport.

From the West Falls Church Metro station (Orange Line), board the train towards New Carrollton and transfer at the Metro Center towards Shady Grove (Red Line) and arrive at the Woodley Park-Zoo Metro station.

From Baltimore/Washington International (BWI):

Public Transportation
From BWI Airport stop 1, take the B30 bus to the Greenbelt Metro station. From the Greenbelt Metro station, take the Green Line to the Fort Totten Metro station. Transfer to the Red Line. Take the Red Line to Woodley Park-Zoo metro station.

Cab Fare
The following are the approximate one-way fares for transport by cab to the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel:

• From BWI $60.00

SuperShuttle
SuperShuttle is offering participants of the 2008 New Partners for Smart Growth Conference a discount on one-way fares to-and-from each of the three DC-area airports and the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel. To receive the conference rate, download the SuperShuttle Coupon (PDF) and present it at the SuperShuttle counter at the airport when paying your fare. Even though the coupon states that it is only valid for the days of the conference, SuperShuttle will honor the coupon for the week leading up to as well as the week after the conference. Participants may also prepay the discounted fares when making reservations online at the SuperShuttle website. (Link will take you directly to the SuperShuttle website and insert the Internet discount code of 6LFNM in the code field.)
