"For over 30 years, the City of Portland and the State of Oregon have been learning laboratories for smart growth. At the American Planning Association, we are proud that many of our members have been part of that experimentation and progress over the years, as they have been in many other communities across the nation. For that reason, we are particularly pleased to be sponsoring the New Partners for Smart Growth conference as it celebrates civic stewardship in the Northwest."
—W. Paul Farmer, AICP, Executive Director, American Planning Association
